The very first
Picacho Earth Day

Friends4Picacho supporters joined Picacho SRA staff to celebrate Earth Day on April 22, 2012.  Due to record setting temperatures the day before, the decision was made to start early:  6:00 a.m. to be exact.

The energetic group planted close to 200 native mesquite trees in the main loop of the campground.  Irrigation lines and emitters were added to each tree to give them the best chance for survival.

Within 4 short hours the task was complete.   All involved were left with the satisfaction of knowing they had spent Earth Day doing something great for Picacho.
