"I take my grandchildren there every year to explore and learn about nature and they learn something new every time we go. I also enjoy the fishing and the wilderness setting away from the hustle of the city." Raymond Wyhs
"I don't camp in many campgrounds, Picacho is one of the exceptions. It's a unique area, so rugged and beautiful with history too. The park is so beautifully set up and maintained. There is always something different to choose to do. The people who spend time here create a wonderfully caring community. Is it the place or the people that makes this happen, probably a synergy of the two. I hope to always be able to spend time with this place." Kay Lauster
"Each year the dads and daughters of the Magdalena Ecke YMCA Trailmates program spend a weekend barging down the Colorado River from Walters Camp, spending the afternoon and night at Picacho campground. What a great way to spend time with our kids and a beautiful place to do it!!" Mark E. Pressey
"This park has to stay open for the history alone! My great-great grandfather, Felizario Parra, was one of the original Picacho miners and is buried at the cemetery there behind the ranger station. As I take family out there to visit the site, we reminisce about what life was like for him and his family back then. I also take my husband and children there to explore the geology, animal and plant life. It is a magical place and it would be detrimental to my family if it closed." Frances Armstrong
